Settings prepares the rig for the way you host. In Auto-KJ version one point thirty, it is the seventh of eight tabs, just before Gigs. The page has seven groups: Show night, Rotation and playback, Singers, DJ and host, Audio and hardware, Appearance, and Library, data and help. Back returns to Rotation. Most controls save or apply as you change them, so there is no single Save All button at the end.
00:00:26.000 | settings-02
Before changing a DJ's preferences, select the right profile in the header. For a first setup, activate the required license, choose your profile, configure audio and screens, select the show connection in Gigs, review singer rules, and run the Pre-show Check. Do disruptive setup before singers join, and make a backup before major data work.
00:00:47.917 | settings-03
License Activation appears at the top while the rig is unlicensed and moves to the bottom once licensed. Enter the registered email and license key, press Activate License, and read the verification result. A typed key is not an activated plan. When the trial offer is enabled, this card also contains the trial workflow: sign in, check any existing trial, complete email verification, and read the disclosure and consent before starting the offered sixty-day trial. Deactivating the local license is not the same as canceling an external billing subscription.
00:01:23.833 | settings-04
Show night begins with Show Screens. Screen Two is the lyrics display and Screen Three is the rotation display. Launch each one, place it on the intended monitor, and make it fullscreen when appropriate. F-eleven affects whichever window has focus. Hide removes a display window from view. The app remembers its position, size, and open state, but you should still check the actual screens in the venue.
00:01:50.167 | settings-05
Lyrics options include widescreen stretch, the On Deck banner during songs, the upcoming-singer list and its length, and the lyrics text and graphics scale. That scale is separate from the host window. The rotation screen has rolling messages, one per line, with a duration for each. Those messages update live, so check them before they reach the audience. Clear the field to hide the banner.
00:02:15.583 | settings-06
Run Pre-show Check while loading in. Read the blocking issues, warnings, and each row's explanation. The offered buttons take you toward the relevant fix, such as an audio output, library folder, network, gig, profile, or screen setting. Choose gig opens the Gigs tab. After fixing something, return and run the check again. A green report is a useful snapshot; it does not replace listening through the mixer or joining with an actual phone.
00:02:44.000 | settings-07
The Gigs tab owns the show connection. Open Gigs and read the This show card to check the selected gig or LAN-only mode. Switch to LAN only keeps singers on this network using the local QR code. Use for this show on a saved gig selects it and returns to cloud mode. Verify the connection after choosing it. Selecting another gig does not clear the rotation or run Start Fresh Session.
00:03:09.417 | settings-08
In version one point thirty, Gigs is the final desktop tab, after Settings. Create and manage venues and gigs there. Settings keeps the LAN network card for choosing the local address advertised to singers. The website account link is not where this guide sends you to create venues.
00:03:28.333 | settings-09
The LAN network card chooses the local address advertised to singers. Auto-detect can be useful, but a machine with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or a VPN may need you to select the correct interface manually. Refresh networks updates the choices. Switching the network restarts the local server and briefly disconnects singer devices, so test the new local QR or address afterward. Free-version local requests use the kiosk page; the full singer app needs a paid plan.
00:03:58.000 | settings-10
Create a Wi-Fi access point reports whether the computer and operating system support it. When available, configure the network name and password before starting the access point. Check its status rather than assuming every machine can host one. This is a network setup operation, so handle it before a live show.
00:04:18.167 | settings-11
Remote Control has a private pairing QR for the host's phone. Anyone who obtains that pairing access can control playback, so never put it on the audience screens or in a public recording. The phone uses the same venue network. If pairing information is missing, check the local server and use Check Again. Revoke and Re-pair requires a second click, disconnects all paired remotes, and creates a fresh code. Pair your trusted phone again afterward.
00:04:47.500 | settings-12
Rotation and playback contains Automation and Playback, followed by Fairness Rules. On a paid plan, End of Song Action can wait for the host, auto-advance to the next singer, or play the Break-Wave playlist. Choose the action, auto-advance delay, and crossfade duration deliberately. Prepare the break playlist and its output before choosing that handoff. The free version keeps these transition controls locked to manual behavior.
00:05:15.583 | settings-13
Warn before interrupting a playing song adds a confirmation when a direct Play action would cut into someone else. Rehearse the end of a song in a disposable queue so you know what the next action actually does.
00:05:29.583 | settings-14
Repeat Song Rule applies to songs already performed. Choose once per night, a cooldown timer, or repeats allowed. A song already waiting in a queue still cannot be requested twice. Turning the repeat rule off is not an override for queued duplicates.
00:05:46.333 | settings-15
Group Song Guest Rule determines where the other participants land after a group song. At the open-stage end, guests keep their place; at strict rotation, they go to the back like the lead. Intermediate settings move them part of the way back. The On-Deck Unpausing explanation describes how returning singers go behind the on-deck singer and behind others already restored there. Fairness settings are available across license tiers.
00:06:14.917 | settings-16
The Singers group starts with Singer Phones. Maximum singers per song controls the microphone choices for new phone and kiosk requests, from solo through four singers. Existing requests stay in the queue. Customize the On-Deck Message or leave it blank for the default, and check the saved indicator after editing.
00:06:35.583 | settings-17
Tip fields include Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, and a custom link with a label. Filled values appear behind Tip the Host on singer phones. Check the destinations and the active DJ profile carefully because these values are shared with the audience.
00:06:52.083 | settings-18
Blocked Songs applies to the selected gig. Search the library, verify the artist and title, then choose Block. The song stays in your collection, but the request paths refuse it and singer searches hide it. Unblock is the way to allow it again. The account-backed list can use its last saved copy offline, while edits need a connection. Read labels on any legacy entries marked as local-only or not in the library.
00:07:19.083 | settings-19
Banned Singers manages bans created from Rotation's right-click menu. Unban opens a confirmation to let that person reconnect; Keep banned cancels that choice. These are show-scoped restrictions, not deletion of the singer's account. A new-night reset clears them.
00:07:36.833 | settings-20
Browse Before You Go lets licensed hosts expose the song catalog through venue codes without a login or live show. Review that as a catalog-visibility choice. The card shows venue names and preview codes. If no code exists, add the venue in the Gigs tab, then return. This Settings card does not create the venue.
00:07:57.583 | settings-21
DJ and host contains profiles and keyboard shortcuts. Add a DJ name and, optionally, an account email. Adding the profile activates it and reserves the stage name on this rig. Switch profiles from the header and confirm the active tag. Profiles keep preferences such as the DJ's tip links.
00:08:16.833 | settings-22
Link PWA account connects a profile to the DJ's singer account for performance credit and settings sync. If that account already has cloud settings, read the dialog closely. OK pulls those settings onto this rig. Cancel keeps this rig's settings and makes them the cloud copy. Here, Cancel is a direction choice, not a promise that nothing changes. Linking an active profile can reload the app, so do it outside live performance. Delete removes a profile and its saved settings; read that confirmation before proceeding.
00:08:50.000 | settings-23
Configure keyboard shortcuts opens a separate editor for the active DJ. It groups Live controls, Navigation, and Displays. Record captures a key combination. Clear removes it, Import shortcuts copies another DJ's setup, and Reset defaults restores the defaults. Adding Gigs did not renumber the original Alt-one through Alt-seven tab shortcuts. Gigs has no default tab shortcut, so do not infer keyboard numbers from the current tab positions.
00:09:18.750 | settings-24
Audio and hardware separates three outputs. Karaoke Output is the singer's playback; changing it stops current playback. Break-Wave Deck Output serves the music decks. Headphone Cue is the private listening path and needs a device distinct from the other two. Changing the deck or cue device restarts the decks and clears loaded tracks.
00:09:41.167 | settings-25
Read missing-device warnings. Karaoke can report a fallback to system default, while a missing selected deck device can prevent the decks from starting. A cue conflict can leave a video preview running silently. Test each output at a low level and listen on the actual destination. A device name in a dropdown is not proof of room sound or private isolation.
00:10:05.000 | settings-26
MIDI Controllers and DJ Hardware shows connected input names and activity. Presets exist for the listed supported models, and Learn lets you map a control to an action. Cancel stops learning, Clear removes a binding, and Reset to preset removes profile overrides. Test one harmless action first. MIDI activity proves a signal arrived, but the action can still fail because the engine is inactive, the platform lacks support, or the feature requires a paid plan.
00:10:35.000 | settings-27
Appearance applies a built-in theme or installed skin immediately. Host window scale changes this interface, while the lyrics window retains its separate size control. Use a readable scale for the screen you are actually working on.
00:10:50.917 | settings-28
Skin Creator and Market has four areas. Community and Premium Market browses skins and account entitlements. Skin Studio and Token Editor changes metadata, colors, status states, text, borders, and shapes. Component Sandbox Preview displays sample interface states. My Installed Skins manages your saved designs. Import and export JSON move a skin; they are not a full rig backup. Check contrast and readability before saving and applying. Premium checkout and payment confirmation are separate from merely viewing or previewing a skin.
00:11:25.167 | settings-29
Library, data and help begins with Track Identification. Save an AcoustID application key here for Break-Wave identification, and keep it out of screenshots. An empty key disables identification. Saving the key and successfully identifying a track are separate checks.
00:11:43.250 | settings-30
Session and Data deserves special care. Auto-KJ continuously saves the show, so closing and reopening it can restore the existing rotation. Start Fresh Session has a second-click confirmation and clears that rotation. Use it for a new night, not as a way to reconnect or select a gig.
00:12:02.333 | settings-31
Clear Song Library has its own confirmation and empties the catalog without deleting the music files. Histories, favorites, and settings are preserved by this operation. Rebuild the catalog through the Library tab afterward. Import History File accepts the supported history formats; Import History Folder is the Karma folder workflow. Read the import report because a file extension in the picker does not guarantee that every database format can be read. History can also be exported as CSV or OpenKJ format.
00:12:35.667 | settings-32
Back Up My Data creates a backup package in the folder you choose. It includes catalog, live session, and selected rig preferences, while excluding license keys and login tokens. Keep separate copies of the original music files. Automatic local backups let you select a folder, interval, and retention count. The app checks at startup and hourly, creating a package only when due. Check Schedule Now evaluates that schedule, so it does not always make a new backup. Read the Folder and Status results.
00:13:07.500 | settings-33
Restore From Backup first validates the package and displays its date, version, contents, and checksum result. Only the later Restore and Restart confirmation replaces the current catalog and any included live show. The app makes a pre-restore snapshot and then restarts. Do not restore during a performance. Afterward, verify both the restored data and the availability of the music files it references.
00:13:33.917 | settings-34
Check for Updates reports whether an update is available. Install and restart is a separate action. If playback is active, the dialog offers Restart now or Wait until the song ends. Restart now can interrupt the song. There is an important limitation in this version: the wait timer belongs to the Settings page and is cleared when you leave it. If you choose to wait, stay on Settings until installation begins, or cancel and update after the show.
00:14:03.083 | settings-35
Guides and Help links the manuals, troubleshooting, FAQ, walkthroughs, field manual, and singer and kiosk material. Check the stated version when opening an older document. A historical seven-tab screenshot does not show every tab in the current app.
00:14:19.833 | settings-36
Finish with the show-night checks that matter in the room. Confirm the license and active DJ, join from a real singer device, inspect the audience screens, and listen to karaoke, break music, and private cue. Verify the end-of-song policy, singer rules, and tip links. Run the Pre-show Check again after fixes, confirm the backup, and leave disruptive setup finished before the first singer starts.
