NARRATED DEMO

Numbers Move: narrated rotation demo

Names hold their rows while turn numbers change. Watch Dana join the end of the current lap with alternation off.

By Paul Kircher · October 9, 2026 · 1 minute 20 seconds

Numbers Move keeps a paper-style list: names hold their rows while turn numbers change. With alternation off, a newcomer joins after singers still waiting in this lap and before those who have already sung repeat. These recordings use development commit 0a73743c. Optional new/returning alternation changes newcomer placement in either mode.

Every spoken line, with the original timestamps.

00:00:00.000–00:00:10.000 | BEFORE · Three singers ready

Numbers Move keeps a paper-style list. Watch the number beside each name. Alternation is OFF.

00:00:10.000–00:00:20.000 | NOW · Alice sings song 1

Alice is on the mic. Bob is on deck. The rotation advances when Alice completes her turn.

00:00:20.000–00:00:30.000 | AFTER · Alice completes

Alice stays on the first row, now numbered 3. Bob is next at 1; Carol is 2. Row order and turn order differ.

00:00:30.000–00:00:40.000 | NEW ARRIVAL · Dana joins

Dana joins at the end of this lap, after Bob and Carol but before Alice repeats. Dana appears at the bottom of the sheet.

00:00:40.000–00:00:50.000 | AFTER · Bob completes

The names still read Alice, Bob, Carol, Dana. Their numbers now read 3, 4, 1, 2. Carol is next.

00:00:50.000–00:01:00.000 | AFTER · Carol completes

Dana is now number 1. Alice and Bob have already sung this lap, so Dana takes her turn before Alice's second song.

00:01:00.000–00:01:10.000 | NOW · Dana's first turn

Dana's first turn finishes this lap. In this simple queue, the names have held their rows while their numbers changed.

00:01:10.000–00:01:20.000 | AFTER · Ready for the next singer

The sheet reads Alice 1, Bob 2, Carol 3, Dana 4 again. This shows an ordinary lap; host moves, groups, and optional alternation can change placement.
