Inbox is where the host reviews incoming song requests. It also holds account claims and departure alerts, which need different kinds of decisions. The speech-bubble button in the header opens a separate DJ Inbox for conversations. We will cover both, beginning with song requests. Practice on a disposable show with a phone or kiosk connected to that same show if you want to verify real delivery.

For manual review, leave Auto-Approve off and check that Accept Requests Online is on. When a card arrives, read the singer name, song title, and artist. A band or group card may contain several performers, so check every name before accepting it. If the song has more than one file version, the Version selector appears after the catalog choices load. Choose the intended brand and disc entry, and notice which one is marked as the default.

Next, check Assign to. For a normal request, leave the requester selected. If someone requested for the wrong person, choose the intended existing singer. The approval button now names that destination. Using fictional names, if Mira's request belongs in Bob's queue, the button should say Add to Bob's queue. Read that name before you act.

Choose Approve, or the destination-specific approval button, once. A successfully settled request leaves the Inbox and the show views refresh. Now switch to Rotation, select the destination singer, and verify the song in Active Queue. Check the group members and file version where visible. This second check matters because a disappearing card alone does not tell you whether the song went where you intended.

The Version choice on an Inbox card applies to the file used for that approval. It does not change the catalog's global default. That distinction matters because the version controls in Rotation and Library can change future requests and tonight's already-queued copies. For a one-request choice, review the file on the card before approving it.

00:02:06.917 | inbox-06

If you need to decline a song, choose Reject. The host sends a declined response for that requester and settles the card. Check the result and confirm no new song was added. If an error appears, inspect the pending state before retrying. You can drag cards to organize your review, but this only changes the Inbox order. The rotation engine still decides where an approved singer or request belongs.

An approval can be refused by the show's rules. A duplicate may offer a host confirmation when manual override is allowed. A declined override or an unattended duplicate refusal results in a rejection path. A song on the gig's blocked list cannot be overridden through this approval. Reserved DJ names also need protection: interactive review can ask you to resolve the conflict, while unattended approval rejects it. For other approval failures, the app keeps the request in the Inbox so you can correct the problem, retry, or reject it. An offline phone may not receive a notification immediately, so check with the singer when delivery matters.

Auto-Approve changes what happens to newly arriving eligible song requests. Turning it on does not clear every card already waiting for review. Duplicate, blocked-song, and reserved-name rules still apply, and a failed automatic approval can leave a card that needs your attention. Turn Auto-Approve off when you want to review future arrivals manually again.

Accept Requests Online controls whether singers may submit through the connected request service. You can turn it off near the end of the night without clearing songs already queued or settling existing cards. The switch rolls back if the backend refuses the change, so read the status and check its final state. These settings are saved locally; review them before the next show instead of assuming they reset.

An account claim is more consequential than a song choice. Its card says that an account wants to claim an unclaimed singer identity. Approving transfers that singer's songs and spot in line to the account. Verify that it is the right person, then choose Approve or Deny. Auto-Approve for songs does not decide account claims. If a denial happens during a connection error, disappearance of the card alone does not prove the server received it, because this source version still dismisses the local card after logging a failed denial.

00:04:38.750 | inbox-11

Departure alerts need judgment as well. The card reports a phone that was more than two hundred metres from the venue and had left the area at least forty-five minutes earlier. Check whether the singer is actually gone. Keep them dismisses the alert while preserving the seat. Remove from line asks a second question that includes the queued songs. Confirm only if those should go too. A failed removal leaves the alert with an error so you can inspect the lineup. Notice that No pending requests can still appear below a departure card; that empty-state label does not mean every kind of alert is gone.

For messages, open the header's speech-bubble button. Select a singer conversation on the left to read its thread and mark that conversation read. Check the name above the reply composer, type the message, and choose Send reply. A successful send adds your outgoing message and clears that draft; a failed send shows an error. This version tracks unread messages per conversation, so opening the panel alone should not be treated as reading every thread.

00:05:45.750 | inbox-13

Conversations can also show a tip amount or a song-buy request. Treat these as message details. They are separate from the song approval queue and do not automatically purchase a song. Use the close button, Escape, or the backdrop when you are finished reading. Clear history removes the current host mailbox's message items immediately, so do not use it just to close the window or assume it deletes anything from a singer's phone.

Finish your practice by checking the destination queue for an approval, the absence of a queued addition after rejection, and the separate outcomes for claims and departure alerts. With a real test phone, confirm the singer sees the intended response. This walkthrough is source reviewed for version 1.30, and actual phone delivery remains a check for your own connected rig.
