Auto-KJ on Windows is a program you install. The Windows button on pricing is the 64-bit setup, AutoKJ-setup.exe. Free version is $0 forever: your files, a desk-entered rotation, dual screen, no singer phones. Full version is ~$10/mo after a 60-day trial, no card. Lifetime is $500. Ghost-Trax credits are $2.
People searching for karaoke software for Windows are usually trying to answer a Saturday-night question: can this PC run the show I already know how to run? The catalog in the search results is a different product. If you want that split in one place, read Auto-KJ vs KaraFun Pro, then the karaoke software pillar and the karaoke host software page. This page is only the Windows install.
What you actually download
The host is native Windows software. Playback, the library index, and the rotation run in the desktop app on the booth PC. The show is not a tab you leave open in a browser. Singer requests, on the Full version, are the part that lives in a phone browser. Those are two different programs. The phone page does not play your ZIPs, and the Windows app does not require the singer to install anything.
The main Windows download is a 64-bit installer, AutoKJ-setup.exe. Every release also ships an ARM64 Windows setup for ARM Windows PCs (Snapdragon laptops): AutoKJ-arm64-setup.exe, listed on pricing as Windows ARM64. A typical booth laptop wants the 64-bit setup. An ARM Windows PC wants the ARM64 setup, or it will be the wrong build.
Free version downloads with no account. The 60-day Full version trial starts inside the app after you install: Settings, then License Activation. No card. Nothing auto-bills. When the trial ends, the library and show data stay on the Free version.
A Windows booth laptop, from soundcheck to last song
Point the app at the folders already on the drive. Auto-KJ indexes MP3+G, ZIP, and video karaoke (.mp4, .mkv, .avi). On the Full version, titles and artists can be searched from singer phones. The audio and the graphics stay on the PC. Canceling a subscription does not take the files with it, because the files were never ours.
- Lyrics screen. Send it to the TV or projector. The Free version includes the lyrics screen and a rotation TV screen, so the room can see who is up without walking to the booth.
- Rotation you can defend. The Fairness Engine covers late arrivals, duets, pauses, and song changes that keep a singer’s place. Throw a duet and two late arrivals at the Rotation Simulator in the browser before you install, then read what the Fairness Engine actually means.
- Breaks. Break-Wave is the dual-deck mixer in the same app: beat and key matching, automix between singers, headphone cue, soundboard, and a DSP rack. The gap between singers does not require a second program.
- Library Sunday. Full version adds filename correction, duplicate handling, and manufacturer preference so auto-queue picks the brand you want. The library management guide is the walkthrough.
Key and tempo live on the transport. You are not exporting a new file because someone asked for a step down. That work stays on the Windows machine you already trust with the library.
Free version and Full version on the same PC
Free version is desk-entered. You type the name, you run the list, you still get the Fairness Engine. A paper intake form for that desk is the printable karaoke sign-up sheet. Full version adds cloud singer phones, a walk-up kiosk, and a phone remote. Singers search the songbook, see their wait, and request without an app-store install. When the venue router dies, Full version can keep those requests on your own LAN. The field version of that rig is karaoke in a bar with terrible Wi-Fi.
Full version is one live show at a time. Extra simultaneous shows are +$5/mo. A KJ with five weekly gigs still needs one seat. Lifetime is $500 and covers unlimited simultaneous shows. Ghost-Trax credits are $2 on every tier, bought on ghost-trax.com, separate from the subscription.
Windows peers, and the nights the laptop is not Windows
Siglos Karaoke Professional is the BYO Windows app a lot of working KJs already know: a perpetual Windows license, your folders, a rotation. The comparison is about who sings next and how you pay, not about which of you “supports Windows.” Siglos stays on Windows. Auto-KJ also ships a Mac disk image and Linux packages, with the real limits written on karaoke software for Mac and karaoke software for Linux. If the booth PC is not Windows, use those installers. This exe will not help.
Coming from OpenKJ on a Windows PC, both paths stay open. Keep OpenKJ and add songbook hosting, or try the Full version for 60 days. The OpenKJ alternative page states the prices, and the migration walkthrough is the half-hour version. The community OpenKJ fork is a separate download from Auto-KJ’s installer. The compare index collects the KaraFun and Siglos pages if you are still shopping.
