Auto-KJ vs Siglos Karaoke Professional

Same job — your library, a Windows laptop, a live room. Different bet on rotation, phones, and how you pay.

By Paul Kircher · September 13, 2026

Siglos Karaoke Professional (PowerKaraoke) is the active BYO Windows peer most working KJs already know. Official shop price is $119 perpetual per user (two machines if you're the only user), one year of updates, then optional ~$39/yr to keep getting new builds. Windows 10/11 only. It indexes your MP3+G/ZIP library, runs a rotation, does dual-screen lyrics, and offers phone requests via a local network or ConnectKaraoke.com.

That's a real show runner. Auto-KJ is not "Siglos but neon." The wedge is the Fairness Engine, cloud singer phones with our full Social Engine, Break-Wave (dual-deck DJ mixer with beat/key matching automixing), full library management, LAN failover, kiosk, remote, and OpenKJ songbook hosting. Free version is desk-entered only — no phones — and is $0. Full version is ~$10/mo after a 60-day no-card trial. Lifetime is $500 if you want it paid once.

When Siglos is the right call

You want a one-time Windows license and you're done. You play CD discs, MIDI/KAR, YouTube karaoke, or PartyTyme as first-class sources. You've run Siglos for years and the muscle memory is paid for. Auto-KJ will not claim a wider format matrix or a 20-year PowerKaraoke catalog of converters.

When Auto-KJ is the right call

The arguments are about who sings next, not which container the file is in. You want singers to watch the same live list from their phones. You jump between a Mac at home and a Windows stick at the bar. You'd rather try the Full version for 60 days than buy a perpetual license to find out. Read the rotation rules and throw chaos at the Fairness Engine simulator before you uninstall anything.

SWITCH COST

Your tracks stay on disk either way. Point Auto-KJ at the same folders. Run one low-stakes Free version show before you touch the paid shelf. Siglos can stay on the backup laptop.

Same library. Different rotation bet.

Download the Free version, point it at your Siglos folders, and keep the $119 license as insurance until the Fairness Engine earns the booth.
