When you purchase an Auto-KJ license, we collect:

Email address — to deliver your license key and account notifications
Payment information — processed by Stripe; we never see or store your credit card number
Device fingerprint — a hash used to enforce activation limits (2 devices per license)
IP address — for rate limiting and fraud prevention

2. How We Use Your Information

Process and deliver your license purchase
Send transactional emails (license key, payment receipts, renewal notices)
Enforce license activation limits
Prevent fraud and abuse

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. Auto-KJ does not store credit card data on our servers. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage

Licensing data (email, license keys, activation records) is stored on our server. We use industry-standard practices to protect this data. License keys and activation records are retained for the lifetime of your account.

5. Auto-KJ Desktop App

The free, open-source desktop application:

Does not collect personal data
Does not send telemetry or analytics
Contacts our server only for license verification (if you have a paid license)
Stores your song database and settings locally on your machine
Caches license verification for up to 24 hours for offline use

6. Singer PWA (When Available)

When using the singer-facing web app:

Singer names and song requests are stored only for the duration of the show
No personal data is collected from singers beyond what's needed for the rotation
Singer data is controlled by the KJ hosting the show

7. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for Stripe Checkout functionality. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.

8. Your Rights

You may request:

A copy of your personal data
Deletion of your account and associated data
Correction of inaccurate data

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of discovery.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Auto-KJ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
